I'm no barista, but this thing's great!

I ordered this to replace a Bialetti stove-top maker. I have had it a couple of months and it is great. I saw some reviews about some machines within this price category being flimsy and unreliable. The Imusa is terrific. Easy to clean (Bialetti was awful!), and makes up to a quad in under 5 minutes. It is lightweight, but sturdy; and makes thick rich foam, even with skim milk. I am a former chef and have had some fancy machines that cost thousands of dollars in my kitchens, Imusa gets it done for me at home. I even went back and ordered a second as a gift.

Adding on to this review: If you haven't been using your old espresso/cappuccino maker because it isn't easy, or a pain to clean up, then this is the machine for you.
I'm impressed!

Especially for the money, this is a great little espresso machine! I've never had an electric espresso machine before. I have several manual espresso makers but no way to easily froth hot milk so I ordered this one. I received it yesterday and made a wonderful latte last night - for the first time in my life! It's easy to use, looks cool and has a small footprint so it's great in a small space. (It did not say anywhere to remove the soft black plastic 'cover' on the steaming rod but I did...I don't want ANY plastic of any kind near my food, especially steaming hot plastic. I'm assuming you remove it else there's no way to clean the rod...) It's a perfect 'treat yourself' gift to yourself when you know you deserve it!

If anything goes awry, I'll certainly update this review but I feel good about it and it works just like I've seen my daughter's much more expensive coffe/espresso/cappuccino maker. I'd NEVER consume name brand commercial coffe store, overly sweetened and overly fat and chemical ladened products, and I cringe when I see so many people putting that inside their bodies, but if I were one of those people, this would pay for itself within a week! (Can you tell I'm a cancer survivor - and that I want to keep it that way!)
One great little machine

For the money, this is one great little machine. It heats quickly, foams the milk easily and promptly, is easy to clean up, and looks cute on the counter. This is our fourth (and least expensive) cappuccino maker - it is also the best.
Yes, great machine for the money.

All the positive things the other reviewers said were correct. It makes consistent cups of espresso in four minutes, and is easy to clean. It is a great price.

Compared to standard stovetop espresso, it
* makes less. It makes one actual cup of espresso. That is what they mean by "four cups."
* also does not froth milk, though it did for the other reviewers. Must be something wrong with mine.
* is easier, because you don't have to stand there and watch it to keep it from burning. You can set it up and turn it on, then go take a shower or whatever while it makes the coffee.
* is transparent. I wanted to see the coffee being made without opening the stovetop espresso, and that was not possible. I can see the coffee fill the carafe of this one from across the room.
* is just as easy to clean.

The instructions are not very good, but you will figure it out.

Also, I just got this, so I don't know how long it will last, but the stovetops usually had to be replaced twice a year or so because they would overheat and warp.
A Great Value!!

I live in Italy part of every year and I adore espresso and cappucino - so I invested big in Gaggia Baby Class machine ($699) - it made awful coffee and the steamer watered down the milk - just an awful machine. I returned it and decided to try something cheap and easy to return. I thought for sure I would be disappointed - BUT this little machine is FANTASTIC - it makes great espresso (I buy my coffee in Italy and the taste from this machine is the same as my barista makes!), and the steamer is incredibly powerful. The machine is small and takes up little room in my kitchen. It works quickly. You can't beat it for the price - and compared to the $700 Gaggia this is a dream!! Like all such machines, the number of servings is given in European size - that is this machine makes 4 servings, but they are each only 2 ounces - so a four serving machine makes 2 nice cappucino servings for me. And it is easy and simple to operate without complicated and unnecessary programings, timings. etc. Just put water in, turn it on, turn the dial to espresso and wait a couple of minutes. The espresso starts to flow and when that happens you can turn it to steam, steam the milk, and then return it to espresso and finish the coffee making. Simple!
